Carbon footprint. We hear that term a lot when it comes to talking about climate change.
What exactly does it mean?
It is the total of all the carbon emissions associated with the activities of an individual or organization. For individuals, your choices for transportation, diet, travel, products impact your footprint.
There are many calculators available on the internet if you are curious to see how your decisions are contributing to your carbon footprint.
And while it is important for individuals to make good choices, large-scale changes need to be made across the system through businesses and governments to have the most impact. These organizations have the opportunity to make big changes. And we can influence and encourage that change by purchasing products from responsible companies and communicating with our local, state/province, and federal governments to implement better policy.
