Shining a light on positive climate news

Negative climate stories in the United States often make the headlines - cancelling wind farm construction, accelerating oil and gas drilling, rolling back regulations on greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution and defunding climate research, just to name a few.

So when there are good climate news stories to share it is a refreshing change. The New York Times has put together a list of positive activities that are happening across the country in their year-long series, 50 States 50 Fixes.

From geothermal heating in both Idaho and Texas and mangrove restoration in Florida to rehabilitating peat lands in North Carolina and microforests in New Jersey, these stories offer a generous dose of optimism and remind us that people are making a difference each and every day.

What difference can you make in 2026? It's not too late.
