Reimagining parking lots to also generate electricity adds clean energy to the grid but it helps to solve a challenge with solar panels; the need for land space is significant for an installation.
Six Flags amusement parks have done that in a few parks, including the latest at Six Flags Magic Mountain in California.
The solar panels cover the 4,300 parking spaces and generate enough electricity to offset the park’s needs and that of the neighboring community. And the panels offer the added benefit of shading the cars from the hot sun making the cars more pleasant to get into after a day of riding the rides.
