Reduce and reuse. Full stop.

The reduce > reuse > recycle triangle is misleading because each part of the cycle does not benefit the climate equally.

Reducing consumption and reusing what we have already purchased offers the biggest benefit to our climate because making and shipping new goods packs such a carbon punch.

Recycling doesn’t come close to making up for the carbon output a new product emits as it is manufactured and shipped.

Keep recycling sure.  But consider making 2023 the year you also buy less and reuse more.
