Having productive conversations about climate

Having conversations about climate change with someone who has a different perspective can be challenging.

Organizational psychologist Adam Grant has some tips for having a constructive conversation. He suggests that when we fail to disagree constructively we are left feeling more disconnected. To avoid this, consider doing these things:

  1. Establish shared values before divergent views
  2. Argue like you might be right
  3. Listen like you might be wrong
  4. Discuss how to handle it better next time
