Climate Art: Washed Ashore

Whale skeletons made from household waste and colourful jellyfish fashioned from soft plastic trash are just a couple of the creatures made for exhibits by the team of artists from the Washed Ashore project.

Based in Bandon Oregon, Washed Ashore has both permanent installations in Oregon and travelling exhibits that were in Minnesota and Kansas earlier in 2026 and one at the Natural History Museum in San Diego, California until February 28, 2027.

All of the sculptures created are made from debris that washes up on beaches throughout America (you can even donate collected debris in Bandon or North Bend, Oregon).

You can investigate the wonderful sculptures on the Washed Ashore website or perhaps even arrange bringing a traveling exhibit to your community.
