Breaking records in Australia

Australia recently broke some temperature records, where some locations saw temperatures more than 15 degrees celsius higher than seasonal averages. Australia is currently at the tail end of their winter and yet some places broke previous records by as much as two degrees celsius (1.8 degrees fahrenheit).

While some people are enjoying these warmer temperatures, those who enjoy skiing as their winter sport are not. The heat wave coupled with lower than average snow coverage could cause an early end to the ski season.

Climate change, which is resulting in warmer temperatures, could see ski seasons fall to 70 days in 2050 from the current 105 days as determined organized by Protect Our Winters advocacy group.

If you love being outdoors chasing powder and skiing runs, consider what you can do to help with your voice, your wallet and your vote.
