It took more than 2900 days but Canadian Markus Pukonen just completed his journey to travel the globe. All with motorless transportation so no vehicles, planes or trains.
Instead he kayaked, sailed, hiked, skied, and bicycled just to name a few of the ways he covered the distance.
The motivation for challenging himself to this adventure came from realizing his impact on the environment.
After traveling more than 73,000 kilometers (45,000 miles) over eight years, Marcus is full of hope and believes climate change can be fixed. As he explains it:
"As long as we take a step in the right direction, I believe we all have the power to make very large changes in the world around us and everything we do has a much bigger effect than I think we appreciate," he said.
