Three two one - go climate friendly with your money!

Are you an ‘experienced American’ (or an ‘experienced Canadian’ or European or any other country in the world)? This term is what members of the group Th!rd Act (pronounced Third Act) call themselves. Amazingly 10,000 people in the United States will become ‘experienced Americans’ - pass the 60-year-mark - every day! As the Th!rd Act website says about themselves and climate change:

“... as a generation we have unprecedented skills and resources that we can bring to bear. Washington and Wall Street have to listen when we speak, because we vote and because we have a large—maybe an overlarge—share of the country’s assets. And many of us have kids and grandkids and great grandkids: we have, in other words, very real reasons to worry and to work.”

But you don’t have to be experienced to take part in Th!rd Act’s next big action. On March 21, 2023 (32123 - get it?) people across the United States will band together to make their anger against the financial industry’s support for climate destruction loud and clear. As they say:

“if you don’t move money out of fossil fuels, we will move our money out of your banks” https://thirdact.org/national-day-of-action/?

See the map at to see if there is an event near you in the US.

There is an event toolkit at so even if you don’t live in the United States you could potentially arrange your own event.

For more information about the importance of where you bank to climate change see pages 254-255 in The Carbon Almanac.
