One Tree at a Time

Jaday Payseng planted a forest in what used to be a barren wasteland on a deserted Indian island. How? One tree at a time.

Jaday, also known as the Forest Man of India, started planting trees in 1979. He kept planting year after year. One tree at a time. Today his forest is as big as New York’s Central Park. Now he has inspired his country to start many similar reforestation initiatives.

Jaday Payeng is truly an inspiration for all of us. People are posting messages of thanks to his Instagram.

Watch this video to learn more about Jaday’s work. It is a beautiful reminder of the power we each have to start a movement, to inspire monumental change. It’s not too late.
