Killing Vampire Power

Here’s an idea for an e-mail to anyone and any organization that uses chargers.

Simply copy, paste and send.

Dear ______

I disconnect my chargers from the power supply when no device is attached. The reason is that a charger plugged in without a device connected, a mobile phone for instance, draws so called vampire power. Not a lot, but it adds up.

Would you be open to communicating to colleagues in your organization to do the same?

This sends a signal that you care about protecting the climate and that you oppose wasting resources. Everything adds up.

(Have you seen these suggestions before? If so, that’s a good thing. Forming good Carbon Action habits takes time and repetition. We sometimes repeat things to help make habits stick.)
