Samela Sateré-Mawé is a courageous biology student and climate activist. She fights for the rights of the indigenous people of the Amazon. Despite all the challenges, Samela remains hopeful and optimistic. She believes that with the support of people all over the world the Amazon can be restored and protected.
Next time we eat a hamburger for instance, know that the soy to feed cows may well have come from this former rain forest. You may then reconsider the burger and instead think of Samela and see what she does here.
